Not only must they be commercially viable by providing secure, affordable energy to an accepting public, but also be in line with the revised Renewable Energy Directive by having lower greenhouse gas emissions, lower overall environmental impact, higher conversion efficiency and greater flexibility to operate in variety of markets and environments.

With these challenges in mind, HIGFLY, along with EU Horizon 2020 projects ComBioTES CONDOR EBIO FLEXI-GREEN FUELS GreEnergy PERCISTAND REGEN-BY-2 Sun-To-X- TELEGRAM TRI-HP-PROJECT X-ROTOR, will participate in the “Low-TRL Renewable Energy Technologies Workshop” being held at the Sustainable Places 2022 Conference, a hybrid event hosted in Nice, France from 6th – 9th September.

The workshop, held on September 8th at 14:00, will bring together experts in the fields of new renewable and low-carbon-emission energy generation and conversion technologies, carbon capture, storage and CO2 re-use technologies, smart energy grid and flexible energy storage technologies. The researchers from the EU funded projects currently developing innovative, efficient, flexible, cost-effective and environmentally safe technologies, that are still at a low Technological Readiness Level, will gather at the workshop to identify possible synergies or potential cooperation on cross-cutting issues to maximise the projects´ expected impacts.
